• Paraty

We can easily say that Paraty is in one of the most beautiful regions of Brazil. Between one stunning beach and another, until today we can find many fisherman's villages resisting with their traditions in their territories.

The region is also part of the famous Green coast, known for the different shades of the green sea water, because of the large amount of preserved Atlantic Forest around the beaches. But besides the natural beauty, Paraty has one of the richest cultural calendars in the country. The traditional Folia de Reis, Ciranda and Jongo dances, Native Guarani songs and the artisanal fishing with the fisher canoes, showing us the beauty of the relations between people and the territory they belong to.

On the top of that, it also has a historic center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with charming little houses adorned with colorful windows.

In 2025, we will immerse ourselves in the Yemanjá Procession, a vibrant celebration of faith, spirituality, and ancestral rhythms.

The Expedition

It’s true that the city is not outside the traditional tourist route, however, there is a Paraty that most people, even in Brazil, still don’t know.

In this trip, we have the opportunity to get to know the traditional fisherman's way of life, the artisanal fishing and their relationship with the sea and the forest. We will also take a boat trip and sail through the Saco do Mamanguá, an 8 kilometers sea entrance, surrounded by mountains, with 33 beaches, 8 villages and also the famous Pico do Pão de Açúcar (bigger than the one in Rio de Janeiro), which has one of the most fantastic panoramic views that you’ll see in your life!

We will also have the opportunity to witness a very traditional local festivity, the Yemonjá procession. This event is organized by the community and attracts residents from all over the region. During two days, the festival will feature cultural performances, processions, and shows. Additionally, local restaurants typically offer special menus in honor of the occasion, such as the Quilombo do Campinho restaurant, which also hosts a traditional Jongo dance.

And of course, we’ll walk and photograph the Historic City of Paraty during strategic times so everyone will go home with lots of great and colorful photos.

Reviews

Juliana Onofre - São Paulo, Brazil

“Honestly, I was a bit nervous about joining this trip as a non-photographer, especially considering I'd only be using my phone.
But this experience completely exceeded my expectations. I realized that the camera doesn't make the photographer; it's all about capturing the moment.
I was amazed with the photos I could take with my phone. The expedition was truly life-changing. I met incredible people and returned home feeling refreshed and inspired. I'm so grateful to Victor for organizing such a fantastic trip.”
